For the first time in ages, I am sipping on not coffee but Moroccan mint tea. It tastes pretty good albeit a bit weak. I thought I would crave coffee more, but so far the tea has performed well as a substitute in my morning routine.

coffee
Coffee is the best drug around. It tastes delicious, makes you feel great, and does not cause noticeable side effects as long as you don’t drink too much of it and consume it early in the day. That being said, it is still a drug and I am slave to it. I’ve begun limiting myselfContinue reading “coffee”
stability
The 3 components of a stable life: shelter – owned home or long-term lease job – or primary activity that takes 40+ hours/week (child-rearing, school, etc) girl – committed romantic partner, dogs don’t count I think the prospect of going to business school this fall is attractive to me in part because it would immediatelyContinue reading “stability”
revisiting nomading
Well I’m ~2 weeks away from leaving my apartment and don’t have a shelter plan, so now seems like a good time to revisit my nomadic future. training
While I am relieved that the GMAT is behind me, I am going to miss the daily brain training. taking the gmat
In 45 mins. Game on. Luckily I will receive my score immediately after finishing, so in several hours I’ll know if I can leave 9th/10th grade english and math behind for good (thought I already had…).
surfing
A couple of days ago I watched a fantastic surfing documentary called Momentum Generation. I was reminded that surfing is the best sport around and that I should go ASAP. Given I won’t have an apartment in 2ish weeks, I think a surf trip is in order. If you wan to join, hmu 🤙
sometimes you’re the hammer and sometimes you’re the nail
Usually when I hop on a call with someone from whom I am trying to learn, I have done enough background research such that I have a loose grip on the topic. Alternatively I have done plenty of networking calls with younger people (usually college students) who very clearly put in 0 effort ahead ofContinue reading “sometimes you’re the hammer and sometimes you’re the nail”
joining the real economy
I’m in the process of locking down a fulfillment warehouse for Manly Nuts, and I’m really beginning to experience the inflation that has ravaged the country. The freight index is up 50% over pre-covid highs, and this is clearly reflected in the cost to ship individual packages of nuts to customers. Special thanks to theContinue reading “joining the real economy”

A life perspective: my life = my calendar + deviations from the schedule. Creating principles for deviating could be a useful exercise. Reminder to self: Sitting down and reading a book is never a waste of time.
