Went surfing this morning for the first time this year. Conditions weren’t great, the water is still pretty cold (my toes went numb), and I’m not good at it. Yet it remains my favorite sport. 🤟🤟

finding an apt
Now that I’m embarking on the apartment search again, it probably makes sense to review the home attributes that I actually care about. Size: As long there’s enough room for a bed and a desk Walk-up: 4th floor and below Noise: Very much prefer quiet – this is pretty important to me Gym: Massive bonusContinue reading “finding an apt”
going to b school
I got a call from admissions a couple of minutes after my brother crossed the stage to receive his diploma. Very fitting. Anyway time to find an apartment in Cambridge…
back to the lou
Flying to STL later today for my brother’s graduation. Tomorrow’s forecast shows a high of 85 and 65% humidity…we are looking at a very sticky couple of days*. I will also find out about B school in the next 36 hours. Exciting times. In other news, Recipeeper has seen ~350 returning users in the lastContinue reading “back to the lou”

Conventional wisdom suggests I am at higher risk for heart diseaseContinue reading “cholesterol excites me”

what did I produce today?
I think there is a strong correlation between the quantity (and quality) of stuff I am able to produce in a given day and my feeling of satisfaction at the end of that day. What do I mean by produce? A blog post is production. Writing code is production. Researching a topic (including thoughtful discussionsContinue reading “what did I produce today?”
updates
Apologies for the radio silence…I have no excuses. But I do have some updates. Recipeeper caught a whiff of virality on Reddit. We had ~10k people visit the site in 2 days, and Reddit users actively commented on the post with helpful feedback. We have been hacking away to implement a lot of the featuresContinue reading “updates”
to reiterate, momentum is key
I know I’ve said this before, but I think momentum is the single most important variable during the early stages of any project. Given the odds at t=0 of a project “succeeding” are extremely low, the team cannot rely upon dreams of victory to consistently propel them forward. Visible progress, however seemingly miniscule, is theContinue reading “to reiterate, momentum is key”
