uncomfortable conversations

I met with potential co-founders last night, and by the end of the meeting we arrived at the question of equity splits. These 2 guys have worked on their project for 5 months and 2 years respectively, so I don’t think they were eager to cut the equity pie into equal slices.

It was an uncomfortable conversation that concluded unresolved, but I’m happy that I kind of forced the issue and was very clear about my expectations. It is far easier to have the uncomfortable conversations now vs down the road.
