Side Projects

Side projects are a great way to explore interests and test potential business ideas. Usually they are called “side” projects because you have a main project (a job).

Although I don’t really have a “main” project (we’ll call it nofearweightloss.com), I’m ramping up some side projects anyway lol.

  • My friend and I are toying with the idea of crowdsourced health via self-experimentation. I’m currently looking at if my caffeine intake drives my heart rate and stress levels higher in the hour post-consumption (as measured by my Garmin Watch).
  • In the last few days I have become very interested in vegetable oils and their potential negative health effects. Even healthy brands like Sweetgreen, Chipotle, and Panera still use them, so if consumer avoidance of these oils becomes a lasting trend then there are a lot of gaps in the restaurant/packaged food market.
  • Some friends have asked me about different components of health, so I figured I would aggregate everything I’ve learned into a single document. (Credit to BS for posing a similar idea). The Yuppie’s Guide to Health coming to stores near you soon! Just kidding, it’s free. Let’s hope GDX continues to go up 7% per day like it did yesterday 🤞.
