Database of ‘clean’ restaurants

The deeper I dive into the world of health and nutrition, the more OCD I have become about what I put into my body. This paranoia has driven me to cook at home much more than I used to. The problem is that most restaurants (even chipotle and sweetgreen) still cook with industrial seed oils, the consumption of which is increasingly linked to chronic disease.

Furthermore most restaurants aren’t using high-quality protein such as grass-fed beef, although this component of clean eating is becoming more mainstream (Chipotle serves grass-fed beef for example).

Anyways I’m only aware of 1 NYC restaurant (Springbone) that doesn’t cook with industrial seed oils and serves high-quality protein. I’m confident this clean eating trend will only grow over time.

Maybe a database of restaurants quantified on various ‘clean’ metrics (cooking oil, protein quality, vegetable source?) would be a useful tool.

Or if Springbone really is one of the few clean restaurants in New York, maybe more brick and mortar concepts are needed…
