Bryan Johnson is a really interesting dude, and I stumbled down the rabbit hole of his twitter account yesterday. Basically he runs a company focused on quantifying brain performance (Kernel), while simultaneously running an in-depth, self experiment on optimizing his physical health. Check out this doc where he outlines his philosophy and current findings.
Anyway it’s all very cool, but the thing that struck me most is the duration between his last meal and when he goes to bed – it’s 6-7 hours! I’ve experienced a similar phenomenon in my own sleep (at least perceived, not yet quantified) where the larger the gap between eating and sleeping the better my sleep quality.
I would be happy eating dinner at 4pm but the problem, of course, is balancing my desire for improved health with my desire for a companionship.
FOOD for thought…ha
